STEAM Fair – An enormous THANK YOU goes out to all of our parent organizers. Our annual STEAM Fair was quite a success. Our guest judges raved about the interesting projects, the engaged students, the thoughtful sharing and the overall organization. A very special thanks goes out to Karen McLeod. This is Karen’s last year organizing the Fair as she will not have students at MJ next year. We are thankful and grateful for all the hours she has given to ensure our students have this fabulous opportunity. many hands makes light work; Cara Dekker and Diane Williams will continue on as coordinating volunteers. Thanks again to all families who helped in so many ways!
Professor Jamz Moveathon – THANK YOU to our School Council for hosting this fundraiser. We had an amazing time dancing and moving with a real live DJ! Thanks to the many families who donated. We will let you know our total when all is tallied up!
Me2We – Our student group is gearing up to support Kidsability with a super-fun activity: Plasma Car races!!! This annual event is a blast and the proceeds go to a place we hold dear. You may have heard that recent cuts are destined to affect Kidsability and our students support is timely. We will let you know of the data as soon as it’s set.
Dogs on the Property – We love your furry friends and understand that walking to school with your pet makes a lot of sense. We’ve noticed quite a few dogs on the property lately. Once one family brings their new puppy, three more think that there has been a rule change. Please be sure to wait on the sidewalk at the front of the school, do not bring your dogs onto the property. We appreciate your attention to this matter.
Playgrounds are closed during school hours – We are so excited to see the sunshine! It seems obvious that we can jump right onto the playgrounds… we can’t. As the ground thaws, the school board will send around a crew to do an inspection and rake up the mulch/sand to ensure it’s all clean. Once this happens, we will be cleared to play! For now, the playground is closed from 8:55am-9:10, during nutrition breaks and from 3:30-3:45pm. Outside of these times; its parents decision!
