Hello Parents,
As the year is quickly drawing to an end, the school council together with the administration would like to thank you for the support you have provided to the council and to the events and committees over the 2014-2015 school year. As has been recently identified, the generosity and fundraising dollars over the past 3 years has allowed us to install a new sound system in our gym for next year!! Great work everyone!!
Looking forward, the 2015-2016 year will bring about some changes as they relate to school council. Some of these changes to watch for include:
- a Volunteer tab on the schools website: this will identify areas where volunteers are needed to assist for a day, an hour or an event;
- a New Council established committees to identify and plan for the years events and fundraising priorities
- clearer communications on how you can become more involved in being part of the MJ community!
- a well-rounded focus on overall health.
At Mary Johnston, our amazing community has allowed us to share with others the spirit of giving and helping one another out. Next year will be no different.
“Keeping Cloths”: Over this past year, the idea of having a winter coat/snow pants drive at MJ has been generated and we’d love to see this happen! The idea is simple: Please put aside any outgrown and gently worn winter coats and snow pants and stay tuned for September’s newsletter for more details. Who knows what treasures you can swap or just pick up! This could be better than Kijiji!!
