December 17th, 2018
As we wrap up yet another year, we can look back and be so grateful for being part of an amazing community! It’s hard to believe that just a short time ago, we were operating out of the library, hoping that our renovation would be complete. Now we are all tucked into our new office, our library has had a little face lift and our gym floor has been replaced!
Our students have been working hard all Fall, learning, growing and connecting. You will notice something pretty special about MJ students; they care! If you walk down the hallway and say, “Hi, how are you?” you will almost always hear, “Good thanks, how’s your day going?” We have the most polite kids around!
Our Me to We student group was very busy supporting the MJ community during the MJ Food Bank Fun Run, winning a trip to the food bank, selling poinsettias and attending the Rangers Teddy Bear toss. Thank you Me to We; you have made a huge impact in our community.
We are looking forward to the New Year. As soon as students return, we will be jumping into STEAM fair projects. Our STEAM fair is being planned for Tuesday, March 5th; all students will have the opportunity to enter a science project into the Fair!
Our Lost and Found has many new items, including a new MJ hoodie and black snow pants. Please take a moment to pop over to check it out. Right now, items are just outside of the gym. If we have time, we will move things to the front hallway.
Our Walking School Bus has received a lot of attention lately! Thanks to Dianne L., our organizer, for putting time into ensuring the schedule is complete each week. Thanks to the many parent volunteers who lead one of our three routes. If you are able to help out, even just once a week, please sign up through the Canadian Cancer Society.
