Embrace Your Differences
Over the course of the next week, we will be promoting the theme of Embrace Your Differences here at the school. To support the theme, we will be recognizing “Pink Shirt Day” next Wednesday, February 25th to symbolize that we as a society will not tolerate bullying anywhere. As you know, this idea came from two incredible Nova Scotia high school students who stood up for a grade 9 student who was bullied for wearing a pink shirt.
We are asking parents to view the following video with their children and have a discussion about how we as an individual, school and society to embrace our differences. Here are some questions to help facilitate the conversation with your family.
What makes it “cool” to be different?
What does it mean to be “normal”?
Ask your child what makes someone a good parent or a good teacher?

Our students are encouraged to wear pink shirts or anything pink on February 25th. There will be a series of announcements that will occur each day starting tomorrow leading up to Pink Day. The announcements will reflect the theme of “embrace your differences” and pump the kids up for our moveathon day which will be held on the same day.
