Poinsettia Pick Up: Thank you for ordering Poinsettia’s from our Me to We group. They will be ready for pick up on Thurdsday, November 29 9:30am-6pm. Please come in through the front door and head toward the gym. There will be volunteers there to help you pick up your order.

Lost and Found: our items will be on display for a few more day, then packed up and shared. At this point their are numerous black snowpants. Please take a moment to label snowpants! We are connected to Mabel’s Labels as a fundraiser. Take a moment to order, Mabel’s Labels and label your child’s outerwear and save us the headaches of having an overflowing lost and found!

Walking School Bus: We are going to be in the movies!! A film crew has been following our walking school bus!  We will let you know when the film will be released. The Canadian Cancer society has funded this film and will feature MJ as we work hard to expand our walk to school initiative.

Did you know that Canadian children are not meeting the guideline of daily physical activity? We know that walking to school is a healthy and great way to start and end the day and is the beginning of healthy life habits. Students who have joined a walking school bus are really enjoying walking to school with friends. Let’s keep this trend going!

The Walking School Bus now has a website for children/families to register. This will allow us to keep track of the kids that are walking with us. Also, we hope to be able to communicate directly with families if there is a last minute cancellation. Please register your children here:  http://www.cancer.ca/walkingschoolbus
The Walking School Bus is looking for more volunteers. All routes need Walk Leaders – ideally we want 2 leaders per route per day. If you can volunteer for any day for any route, please register here:  http://www.cancer.ca/walkingschoolbus
Please note that if you do NOT live on or near a current route, you can still drop off your kids along a Walking School Bus route. This will reduce traffic near the school making it safer for all our kids. Do you live out of our school boundary? Then this is the solution for you! Drop your child at the Clair Creek route as it runs daily.
Traffic and parking woes:
Despite our best efforts and reminders, we have noticed that traffic in front of the school has become worse. There have been an increasing amount of U-turns, drop offs in the middle of the road, and cars parking in the bus zone. Drivers, please pay better attention. Leave earlier to avoid the rush and find an appropriate place to drop off your child(ren).

Bully Prevention week assembly: our students came together last Friday for a whole school assembly. During that Assembly, our LIT’s performed a reader’s theatre of the book, “Leave Me Alone”. The story highlights that being an ‘upstander’ is a great way to deal with a bully! Thanks to this talented group. Students learned that showing kindness and empathy are truly important traits to show each and everyday. We are planning to follow up with a ‘Throw kindness like you would confetti’ activity.  We thank Mr. Riegle’s grade 5/6 class for wrapping up the assembly with a fantastic bucket drumming performance!
