Wednesday, Oct 10 – Mary Johnston Food Bank Fun Run – For those of you who had the pleasure of meeting and knowing Mary Johnston, you would know that she gave her time generously, supporting many organizations in K-W. Mary spent many hours volunteering for the betterment of our community and would be so proud to know that we have continued on with our Fun Run in her name. A huge Thank you, goes out to our Grade two FI classes; they have carried on in Mary’s honour, collecting and organizing the many food donations that have come in this week.

Tomorrow, we welcome many schools to MJ for our Fun Run. Each guest participant will also bring along a Food Bank donation. We are so happy that we are able to help our community in this way.

If you haven’t already, please complete the permission forms on School Day, so that your child may take part in the off-property part of the run.

School Council Winter Coat Drive, Oct 8-17 – Have you looked around for your child’s winter coat? Snow pants? Chances are, items are going to be a little snug as children tend to grow over the year! We are excited to announce MJ’s 5th annual winter coat and clothing drive.

If you have gently used items, please drop them off at school from Oct. 8-16.

Clothing Drive: Wednesday Oct. 17 3-6pm and Thursday Oct. 18 8:30-9am, in the gym.

Terry Fox Celebration – Thank you once again, for your support in helping us reach our goal of $4000 for the Terry Fox Foundation. Did you check out our Twitter feed for the awesome pictures? We had so much fun last Friday with almost every teacher and even the principal, getting ‘pied’. It was a fantastic way to begin the Thanksgiving weekend, with so much gratitude.
