Hello Families;
We are having a GREAT start to the school year and hope that things are going well on your end too! We do know that it takes some time to review the many pieces of information that come your way in September. Hopefully you are signed up for School Day and have enabled email notifications. It’s also helpful to subscribe to our website. This will ensure you won’t miss a thing!
Below is a summary of things that are happening now:
School Council – Please join us for our first meeting, this Wednesday, September 19 at 7pm in the school library.

During this meeting, there will be an opportunity to vote for council openings. Please fill in the nomination form and either send it into school or bring it to the meeting school council nomination election form 2018
Spirit Wear – This year, every Friday will be spirit day at MJ! Are you in need of new spirit wear? Ordering is really simple, click on the link and select the items you would like to purchase. Our new spirit wear looks so GOOD!

Items will be on sale until September 28th.
Pizza Orders – At MJ we pride ourselves in providing pizza for all! Please send in your order forms to ensure your child(ren) receives pizza. Our first pizza day will be Friday, October 5th.
ESNS – Monday is often a tough day to pack those lunches! If you are interested in ordering from ESNS, head to their website to order. ESNS

Walking School Bus – Many of you met Colleen at Meet the Staff night and indicated that you were excited about the possibility of a Walking School Bus. If you are interested in being a part of the Walking School Bus, please register by filling out the online form. http://www.cancer.ca/walkingschoolbus We would love to be able to contact you to help get this initiative off the ground! Please note that October 3rd is international walk to school day. Wouldn’t it be amazing if our whole school would walk???
Parking and our LIT – (Leaders in Training) Did you see our student leaders out front last Friday? Our students want everyone to know that the rules of the road are meant to keep us safe. If you drive your child to school, please be aware of the signs posted on the light standards. There is a large area directly in front of the school, this is the bus zone. If you park there, the bus has to circle around the block. Please do not park in the bus zone. There is a small drop off zone close to the Kindergarten entrance. Please do not park in this area, this area is intended for a kiss and drop. If you are parking and walking your child onto the property, please look for a spot on one of the side streets, and please, oh please, do NOT park in neighbour’s driveways.
New Office – We are now fully operating out of our new office space and we LOVE it! If you are heading to visit us, please make your way to the front garden entrance. We do enjoy when you drop by, but prefer that you send all items with your child in the morning to ensure fewer interruptions to everyone’s day. Thanks for your consideration.
