Happy New Year to all! We hope that you had a safe and happy holiday. We are off to a busy start at MJ; so many activities and learning to look forward to, each and every day! Our enthusiastic Glee Club continues to sing and dance, PALS playground leaders are dedicated in leading nutrition break play, Coding club starts today, Caribou Math is this week, the Green Team is keeping us organized, Ski Club starts next Tuesday and our LIT (Leaders in Training) has been moving full steam ahead in planning our next spirit assembly for this Friday!

Kindergarten Registration – Calling all children born in 2013 and 2014 who are not yet registered for Kindergarten. We love having as many students as possible registered before March 31st. This is the date when numbers are submitted to the WRDSB; then classes are assigned to us. We are running four classes this year and hope to maintain this for next year. Please let your neighbours know that we would LOVE to have their children in our Kindergarten program.

MJ Spirit Wear T-Shirts – this year we tried out a new vendor and pre-ordered T-shirts and have them in stock. The verdict is in: WE LOVE THEM! To get your awesome Jaguar T-shirt, drop by our main office during office hours: 8:30am-4:00pm. The cost is $10.00 per shirt. We are looking into adding more MJ spirit wear items for the fall.

School Council – Council meets this Wednesday, January 17 at 7pm in the school library.  Childcare is provided. Please come on out to hear about the great things that are happening and soon to be happening at MJ.

Important reminders:

Arrive on time. School starts at 9:10am. Your child should be lining up with his/her class by 9:05am at the latest. It is important that teachers are able to start the day without the interruption of students trickling into class. If your child is late, please proceed immediately to the office. If you are entering the building through the front door, you are late.

Absences: please be sure to call the attendance line if your child is ill/away: 519-747-1620 press 1 for attendance and leave a message. Please do not call the main office to leave attendance information. Thank you.

End of the day plans: Mrs. Kieswetter often receives calls after 3:00pm with information about changes to student pick-up plans. Please know that we cannot guarantee that messages will get to your child by 3:30pm.
