Dear MJ Families:
Halloween/Black and Orange day is fast approaching and we want to ensure that it is a great day for everyone. We understand that many students do not celebrate Halloween, therefore we have planned carefully so that all feel included.
Our LIT (Leaders in Training) have planned for a spirit assembly and house group activities during the middle block of the day.
Students are invited to come to school wearing Black/Orange or their Halloween costumes on Tues, Oct. 31st. Each class will send out specific information on what the day will look like int their classroom.
Here are a few guidelines to follow if your child plans to wear a costume:
– costumes should not be suggestive, derogatory or depict violent themes.
– accessories – do not bring weapons – keep accessories at home as they often can be lost of forgotten at school and may be needed for trick-or-treating later in the evening
– after celebrating Halloween at home, many candy treats will be brought to school in students lunches in November. In an effort to keep snacks nutritious and healthy, we are asking that candy treats be limited. This will help your child feel well fed and focused throughout the day.
Thank you for supporting MJ to ensure that we have a day of learning, fun and friendship.
Kindly,
Mrs. Bileski
