The grade 2/3 students in Mme Hutton’s and Mlle McManus’s classes have been working on an inquiry project to not only help students build friendships but to look at ways in which our students can ensure that students have someone to play with during the nutrition breaks. The end result of their inquiry was the creation of two “Friendship Benches”.

One bench is located in the primary area and the other one is located further down the playground near the ball diamond. We have attached an information sheet that will help parents better understand the purpose and use of the friendship benches.

Congratulations to the students who have shown a genuine care and empathy to others at our school. Their thoughtfulness is an excellent example on ways that our school is being inclusive to everyone.
