Hello families,
The SCIS (Safe, Caring and Inclusive Schools Committee have a special treat for you in these next videos that we’d like to share. Have you heard of Playing for Change? It’s a wonderful organization looking to unite and inspire the world through music. Musicians, many of them street musicians, are recorded and then the sound is mixed to create an amazing “whole” of musicians who have never met.
In addition, and among other things, the Playing for Change foundation has set up nine music schools around the world to provide music and movement instruction to students for free.
Take a look at these two wonderful performances of “Stand by Me” and “Imagine” and share with your child the messages of the artists who created these songs as well as the intent of Playing for Change. There are many more songs to enjoy on the website. Your children will have the opportunity to see musicians – young and old – from around the world!
The videos can be found on our SCIS page on the MJ website: http://mjp.wrdsb.ca/scis-safe-caring-and-inclusive-schools/scis-parent-videos/
