Courage!

What is courage? There are “awesome kinds” of courage and “everyday kinds” of courage. This book celebrates the moments, big and small, that bring out the hero in each of us from “being the first to make up after an argument” to “going to bed without a nightlight.”!

On October 1, we had our assembly to introduce our book. We had a firefighter and doctor come in to talk to Mary Johnston students about their careers as community helpers. The assembly also highlighted how everyone can show courage in different ways.

Please take time at home to talk with your child about the following questions.

1. What does courage look like?

2. What helps you have courage?

3. How can you give courage to someone else?

Courage is an important quality to achieve your personal goals in life – so remember to take time to celebrate the small and big accomplishments.
